Range. The Moluccas. Widely cultivated in warm regions. Cultivated in Myanmar.

Uses
Flower: Buds (cloves sun-dried buds) are sharp, spicy and bitter in taste; regarded as having the following properties: carminative, stomachic, antiemetic, an­tinauseant, febrifuge, vermifuge, emmenagogue, and tonic. They are used as an aid in treating diseases of the arteries, for lung problems, and as a general stimulant and excitant of the digestive functions.

Origin

Cultivated in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Action:

Carminative, antiinflammatory, antibacterial.

Flower buds—antiemetic, stimulant, carminative. Used in dyspepsia, gastric irritation.

Oil—employed as a local analgesic for hypersensitive dentlines and carious cavaties; internally as a carminative and antispasmodic.
